ASIANS ON FILM FESTIVAL 2015
DANI JAE WITH KATHERINE PARK
Katherine Park shone on the red carpet in a dress designed and created by her mother and her sister. The actress, who was there to promote the movie Red Dress, was also standing in for director Ekmund Yong, who happened to be in Malaysia. Park starred as a maid in the film, which she labels a ‘tragic thriller,’ and said that the role was demanding and took a lot out of her.
Katherine’s background is more at the musical end and so in that vein she contributed to the film with her voice, adding a musical score with a song that ran intermittently throughout the film. Originally, Park told TTV reporter Dani Jae, she got into acting in order to be a better singer on stage, but her singing evolved into an acting career and the amalgamation of the two characteristics has helped her connect to the emotionality of her roles and her versatility enables her to compose songs based on her roles.
Katherine Park says she’s very artistically fulfilled with her work and that life is short, precious and fragile and that you have to do what you love.
